First launched in 2015,
The Little Blackbox Bootcamp aims to be a launching pad for participants looking to get their hands dirty and learn just what it takes to create an entire production from scratch.
Phase 1: Once a week, 3 hours/session
- Introduction to Actor Training
- Introduction to Vocal & Movement Technique
- Introduction to Devising & Scriptwriting
Phase 2: Devising & Playbuilding
- Kicks off with a 3-4 hour Equine-Assisted Devising Workshop
(yes, you’ll be hanging out with horses!)
- Creation and Development of Script
- Introduction to Technical Theatre
- Pick a focus; Spend time with a mentor to go through a specific aspect of the production building process you want to development yourself in. This can be lights/ sound/ costuming/ directing
Phase 3: From Page to Stage
- Blocking & Direction
- Rehearsals
- Marketing of your show
- Building your set
- Rehearsals, rehearsals, rehearsals
